Who shops consignment?

Smart shoppers who know the want to pay only a fraction of regular retail prices understand the value of shopping at a consignment boutique. These stores usually have one of each item so the variety of merchandise is great. The garments often come from the best retail stores in the region and/or online.
Items are inspected and screened for outstanding condition and are either new often with hangtags or gently used.

What are the benefits to customers?

Customers can find great values while shopping and expect to pay approximately 30% – 40% for gently used items or 50%- 75% of the regular retail price of new items with hangtags. The clothing tags reflect the date and the price which will be reduced every 30 days for regularly tagged items. There is a “New Arrivals Rack for the best selection of the newest items received at QC. Queens’ Closet will also run occasional sales and always has a clearance rack available.

What are the benefits to consignors?

Consignors have a great resource in the Queens’ Closet by reselling their best garments that they no longer wear or need earning money or store credit. Consignors will receive 40% of whatever their items sold for.

After 90 days consignors have their choice of picking up their things and perhaps bringing them back the following season to try to sell them again. Most of our consignors prefer to donate these items if they don’t sell through us to one of our community partners who have worthy causes and support women-in-need.

Other consignors choose to pick up their items and donate it to the charity of their choice and take the tax deduction. Consignors have all of these options, any of which fit their particular circumstances and preference.

Reselling at QC also allows people to help our environment as well by keeping more items out of our landfills. It has been reported that the average American sends approximately of 68 pounds of textiles and clothing to our landfills annually.
